Well, the Sharepoint Product Group might be "very excited" and "super jazzed" about the new version of Visual Studio Extenstions for WSS for Visual Studio 2008, but it still won’t install on VS 2008 running on 64 bit Vista. Loads of questions on the Sharepoint Team Blog about this point but no answers. Question to Microsoft is, are we moving to a 64 bit world or not??

I noticed your post about VSeWSS 1.2 not running on a 64bit operating system. I too, was disappointed that the extensions would install on 64 bot OS’s, so I wrote up a blog post on how to enable these extensions to install on a 64bit OS. Please check it out at http://www.sharepoint-stuff.com/?p=54
While this isnt supported it atleast start to lets us running 64Bit OS’s to use VS2008 to write webparts, etc.
Let me know what you think
Thanks
